New Garden Boxes

During the early part of April, we made some big changes to the garden. As some of you who read my blogs already know, I garden in garden boxes. We moved the boxes from up by the house to out by the greenhouse, yay!! It was a great decision to move them and to top it off we built some more boxes. It makes me so happy to have so much more space to grow stuff!!

Wanna know more about gardening in boxes? Just ask me, read my blog posts, keep checking for more posts to learn more as well

Concrete Work

I’m that girl, that girl that loves a good project! Growing up we would do most of our own projects instead of hiring people. My dad is quite the do it all kind of guy, I always found it very inspiring. So, when mom and dad wanted to do some concrete work at their house, I jumped all over the opportunity to volunteer my kids and I to help. My brothers family joined us to help too, it was a good time and great learning experience for the kids!

I’d love to hear about your adventures in family concrete work! Thanks for reading!

The Bungalow

We have a tiny house that we rent out. The guy that was living there for about 3 years moved out, so it was time to do some clean up. He smoked in the house and it was yucky in there to say the least. Everything was sticky with tar and discolored. The smell was terrible, I am unsure if he ever opened a window. I took a bunch of progress photos as this was a two month project for mom, Peyton, Edyth and I. Having just finished the tiny tiny playhouse project, this was a fun upgrade!!

It took 2 coats of Kilz primer and 2 coats of paint to cover that nastiness. Also a lot of scrubbing on EVERYTHING. The basement was dingy and needed freshened up but at least it just needed some paint.

Most of our summer went to working on that place. Which allowed for picnic lunches, walks around town (because it’s in town and we live in the country, so it’s a big deal) and a feeling of being on vacation for 2 months!! Glad it turned out so nice! I’m that girl that loves a good project and this is definitely one for the books!

The Tiny House Project!

We were given a playhouse for my son about 6 years ago. I put some fresh stain on it, built a platform for it and he loved it!!! Since then he has outgrown it, but had a little sister come along who now wanted to use it. After that many years it needed repaired. So we put it in the garage and repaired away!

We painted almost every inch of this thing including the inside, which had never been painted. Our little lady was quite the helper!! If you look close you’ll notice that Edyth is wearing the apron I made for her and wrote about in a previous post.

We also built a new deck for it out of the old deck my uncle gave us, that I also wrote about in another post. Approximately 45 hours of painting and deck work and it’s done!!! She loves it!! We all know I’m that girl, that girl that reuses everything she can!!
