Yes, another birthday!!! I love birthdays! It was a wonderful yet really hard day for me. My little guy is getting so big and becoming quite the young man. I am so proud of him but it is hard to choke down that he is ten! We took off for Indian Lake, a beautiful place about an hour and a half from home, to spend the day fishing and hanging out on my dads jobsite. Then ended his birthday with a small party at home!
Halloween
My favorite holiday is Halloween!!! Simply because you get to dress up like whoever or whatever you want and it’s totally acceptable! How fun is that?! I have collected quite a few wigs and costumes and such over the years now that we tend to play dress up around the house all month long with it!!
Happy Halloween!!!
Construction
I worked in construction for 11 years and loved it so much!! I’ve been retired for 4 years and miss it a lot sometimes. Every opportunity I get to build something makes my heart happy! Especially an opportunity to work with my dad again, on top of that to work with my son too! Dad was going to put in a new window in his barn and Peyton and I got to help!! It was a great day of family bonding and teaching my son a trade!!
Pin-up Contest
First let me say, I have a dream, have had it most of my life, to be a model. I don’t know why I desire it so, but I do. For the past two years Piqua, a town not far from here, puts on a bike fest. With everything from a downtown festival, live bands, stunt bikes, bike show and a pin-up contest! This year I thought I would enter this pin-up contest. Boy am I glad I did! It’s not a huge to do or anything but still, to challenge myself to get up on stage and speak and pose in front of people, (not something I do well) is a big deal to me!
I got second place!!! Woo hoo!!! Super proud of myself for stepping outside my box!! After the contest, which was held across town at the Harley dealership, we went downtown for the rest of bike fest. While strolling around I was asked by some people that put out an Ohio biker magazine, to do some pictures for the magazine. I can’t even describe how excited I was!
I never actually made it into the magazine… But I got a small taste of a life long dream of mine! Even Edyth got in on it!!
Nana and Papaw Apples!!
My mom and dad are lucky enough to have a couple of apple trees. This past year there was quite an abundance of apples. So of course mom, the kids and I took to the kitchen to can and freeze as many as possible. We froze sliced apples and canned everything from sliced apples to applesauce and even whole, cored, spirilized apples!!! It was a wonderful way to celebrate all things fall and the house smelled amazing.
They are well worth all the work! It’s fun for all of us anyway!! What are some things that you love about fall?
My Birthday!
Anyone who knows me knows I love birthdays! My mom n kids took me out to the lovely town of Tipp City for some downtown shopping and lunch for my last birthday!! We had such a nice time!!
Then for the evening my husband n kids took me to down to the Joes Crab Shack on the river in Covington KY!!
It just so happened there was a lady doing face painting there that night!! Lucky I know!!!
Thanks everyone for a great adventurous birthday!!
Yellow Springs Street Fair
One of my favorite things to do comes around twice a year!! I’ve been going to it since I first stumbled upon it some 15 years ago. It’s such a great time with its fabulous smells of food from all over the world, handmade things of all sorts, sounds of people playing music around every turn, tye dye anything, belly dancers and so much more!!
Let me know what you think of the video please. If it goes over well I’ll post more. Thanks for reading!!!

The Summer of the Swing Chairs
It all started with the swing tent I talked about in my last post! This thing is awesome!!
My son found me this rainbow hammock swing chair at a garage sale!!
Then at our local Rural King (a farm store, I know right?!? of all the strange places to find hippie stuff) we found this fabulous basket swing chair!!
And then, we were at Traders World one afternoon and found the most amazing egg basket swing chair!!! Swoon!
My front porch went from ok to hang out on to the most amazing, chill, swing, hang out and relax outdoor space I’ve ever had!!
Do you have a great outdoor hang out space? Tell me all about it!!
Christiansburg
So on a whim I was looking through Facebooks rummage sale page and found a swing tent thing for Edyth!!! Awesome tent great price! I will write more about this swing tent thing in another post. So again because I’m that girl that loves adventures we take off on a short journey to Christiansburg. The lady we were meeting said there was a quaint little restaurant that has great food, so we thought we would check it out!!
She was right! It was a neat little small town place with a great menu!!! If you are ever in town check it out and tell them you read about it on my blog!!
